Yep - it massively effects your digestion, health and energy levels.

Facts

  • Makes your saliva
  • Needed for hormone and neurotransmitter production
  • Carries nutrients through the gut lining into the blood stream (energy and health people!)
  • Removes waste
  • Brains are 75% water
  • Drinking water is treated chemically to reduce infection risks

So there aren't much fun in your vessel if it is parched.

We know the approximately 2 litres a day advice and our world seems to one endless water bottle refill.

BUT

... bad news here...

Chemically treated drinking water, rightly so, contains chlorine and chloramines.

These kill water-borne infectious disease bacteria and parasites - YES PLEASE.

No cholera for me please darlings. I'm a busy girl.

AND you swallow that stuff... so the beneficial, kick ass, immune-strengthening, food-digesting, mood-enhancing, crime-fighting (I made that one up) buddies in your biome get smashed by them too. 

MEGA SAD FACE.

So filtration is the name of the game right? Or buying spring water. The number crunch, environmental impact and accessibility make the filters the winner.

When buying a filter make sure it lists that it removes 99.9999999... (closest to 100% you can find) of the chlorine and chloramines to make sure the work you are doing with your nutrition and functional food choices aren't getting wiped with every sip you take.

REMEMBER: HAVE A FILTER - OR BE THE FILTER.
